With back pain, 1% is really nasty stuff like infection, fracture and cancer. 9%, due to major nerve compression.

That leaves 90% of people with back pain that we can help, with scans rarely being needed.

Our Ongoing Back Pain Process

We will help you understand not only what is causing your pain but crucially why it has happened.

You see ongoing pain has a habit of coming back or always being there in the background.

Freedom is in, not only making a plan for the pain but also the factors that caused it.

Your life is different to the next person and we are only interested in you and your needs.

Whilst everyone has a goal of getting away from the pain, the best way for a sustainable recovery is to fix our sights on what you are getting back to.

This is how a lasting recovery from ongoing pain is really made because it has often made you have to modify your life and lots of the things you valued no longer feel possible.

We can then work out a plan that makes sense to you and you can start the journey to freedom.

This will often include manual therapy, lifestyle changes and exercises to help you get back to your life.

A course of treatment is often 6 sessions over 3 months but this will be tailored to you.

For ongoing back pain, a timeframe to expect is 3 months of keeping your focus on the plan we build together.

This in most cases will mean you are firmly on the road to long-term recovery and not just suppressing the symptoms.

You will understand the factors that are most important to you to have control over your back pain and have built a toolbox so you can not only get on with your life but handle the unexpected setbacks that used to feel like “your back had gone again”

No. It’s a done with you approach, not done to you. If there was a ‘thing’ we could do that would solve persistent back pain it wouldn’t be the big problem it is globally.

The first appointment will help you understand what is going on and give you an individual diagnosis.

If this seems like something you want to do then we usually recommend a course of 5 more sessions over an agreed timeframe dependant on what we think will have the most long-term impact then review and see what is needed to complete the recovery.
