All osteopaths by law are registered with The General Osteopathic Council, being primary and allied healthcare professionals they are responsible for the diagnosis and management of patients. Your osteopath needs to ask
detailed questions about your complaint, medical history, general health and any medication you may be taking, this is so they can
make an accurate diagnosis and fully understand you and the context of your complaint. If you want to understand why we are asking
any questions, just ask.

Medical Records Consent

We take the collection and security of your data very seriously and will only use your medical data directly in relation to treatment at
Bannerdale Osteopaths and will only share it with your explicit consent or when legally obligated. This involves keeping digital treatment
notes with Cliniko (our patient management software). This information contains special category data that is required by law for us to
perform our duty as a primary healthcare practitioner and is treated with the same confidentiality and security requirements as your
medical records at a GP or dentist. In accordance with the law, we will keep all medical notes for at least 8 years or until age 25 if under 18.
Our digital partner stores your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR special category data requirements, being encrypted and password-protected to industry standards, with access restricted to only those essential to your care.
