We realise online appointments may be a new concept, so if you have any questions at all please feel free to get in touch and we will do our best to help you.

What will happen at my first online osteopathy or physio appointment?

During your first online osteopathy or physio appointment, we will discuss the symptoms you are experiencing and ask you questions about your general health, lifestyle, and medical history, talk you through an in-depth examination and outline the treatment that we think is most appropriate for you. This will initially be in the form of self-care and home exercises and may in the future involve visits to our clinic.

How long will my online appointment last?

Your first online appointment will be slightly longer than any subsequent appointments and will last for about 45 minutes. Any subsequent appointments will usually be shorter.

Do I need to have any information prepared before my online osteopathy or physio appointment?

It would be really useful if you could have a list of any medications you are currently taking alongside any relevant x-rays, scans, or medical reports ready before your online osteopathy or physiotherapy appointment.

What should I wear for my online osteopathy or physiotherapy appointment?

In order to diagnose you properly during your online osteopathy or physiotherapy appointment, we will have to see how the affected area moves. Wearing loose-fitting clothes is probably best for this, although some patients choose to wear shorts and a vest for their online appointments – whatever works best for you.

You have given me exercises to do, but I’m not sure if I’m doing them right.

Then get in touch! You can watch videos of the exercises we have prescribed in your program and record the pain levels, but if you think something is not going right then please let us know via the app. Your osteo or physio should reply to messages every day.

What payment methods are available?

We use Stripe for taking online payments. Card payments through Stripe clear instantly, meaning we can get started on your Consultation straight away. For all of our online treatment options, we ask that you pay before your consultation. 

Do I need any specific operating system or browser for my consultation?

We find that Physiapp works best on Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. You can test if your browser and laptop are compatible here – https://support.physiapp.com/article/996-test-your-system-for-telehealth

What if I don’t have access to video call technology like Skype, Whatsapp or Zoom?

That is absolutely fine. We don’t actually need you to have access to any of those platforms. Our appointments are done through a secure and encrypted platform called PhysiApp. All we ask that you have access to is a device with a webcam and microphone (preferably a laptop) and a decent internet connection.
